Mickey's Delicatessen traces its roots to the Nuremberger Bratwurst Glockl in Munich, founded by the late Simon Baeumler more than a 100 years ago. It was Baeumler’s culinary talent and love for great food that made him acquire the tightly guarded sausage recipe from Nuremberg and bring it to Munich. Consequently, Munich’s famous beer tavern became known for a specialty from a rival city, Nuremberg, whose delicious Bratwurste (finger-size sausages) form the staple dish of the menu.

Since then, their home-made sausages became well known all over Germany, and its unparralled taste and flavor remains a family secret up to date.

In 1989, the 4th generation family of Simon Baeumler, took over the next family restaurant.

In the 1990’s, it was Michael Beck (great grandson of Simon Baeumler) who brought the Glockl to new heights with a renovated kitchen to suit modern day demands and an expanded capacity to accomodate the hundreds of people who flock daily to enjoy the beer and to take a bite of their renowned specialty.

Filipinos can now have a taste of authentic German cuisine in Manila. Michael Beck pursued their plan of establishing “Mickey’s Delicatessen” in the Philippines, following the 100 year old tradition of the famous restaurant and tavern in Munich.

Michael Beck's legacy is alive and continues to live on at Mickey's. The legacy of good taste, premium quality and most importantly, the only truly authentic German restaurant in the Philippines. Our German trained production and kitchen personnel maintain the highest European standards our sausages & processed meat products are known for. The recipes and ingredients used for our specialty sausages are prepared in the same time honored Bavarian tradition.
